Nonprofits Support Charitable/IRS Appraisal Reforms
Independent Sector, a nonprofit, nonpartisan coalition of more that 500 charitable nonprofits and philanthropic institutions, wrote to Congress to express support for the package of charitable giving tax incentives and reforms that has been amended and offered by the Joint Committee on Taxation and Senate Finance Committee staff for inclusion in the final conference bill for the Tax Relief Act of 2005 (H.R. 4297).

Fannie Mae Announces 2006 Conforming Loan Limit of $417,000
WASHINGTON, DC -- Fannie Mae (FNM/NYSE) today announced that it will apply new conforming loan limits, as determined by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) based on federal data on mean (average) home prices, to increase its single-family mortgage loan limit to $417,000 for 2006.
